A Real-Life Hunger Games?

By real-life, I mean reality TV…

The New York Post reported this week that the CW is casting for a reality show based on Suzanne Collins’s book series. In “The Hunt” teams of two will play “a steroid-infused game of hide-and -seek” while battling the elements and finding themselves food, water, and shelter in the wilderness. Sounds a little too familiar.

I just finished all three of The Hunger Games series and while I was totally glued to the books and can’t wait for the next movie, the show just doesn’t appeal to me. Without Collins’s political backdrop and Katniss’s fire, I think all we’ll be left with is a (thankfully tame) game of hide and seek.

What do you think?
