Pacific Northwest Trip: Portland

This summer’s adventure: Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver. Mike and I have been talking about a Pacific Northwest trip for as long as we’ve been traveling together, and we finally made it there! At first, we had planned to rent a car in Portland and drive it North, but we ended up just using public transportation, our feet, and bikes around the three cities and taking Bolt Bus from Portland to Seattle and Amtrak from Seattle to Vancouver, which worked out really well. We only spent a day and a half in Portland, but here are some highlights:

Voodoo Doughnut. Yes, that's a Froot-Loop doughnut. Also a vegan maple one, a blueberry cake creation, and a peanut butter Oreo concoction. Not surprisingly, we ended up with stomachaches.

A city who touts a gigantic bookstore as one of it's main attractions? Sold. Powell's City of Books.

We rented bikes for the second day, and saw almost the entire city in 6 hours. Ouch.
