Happy New York Fashion Week!

Twice a year, designers, models, hair and makeup artists, production companies, publicists, buyers, and editors flock to Lincoln Center (previously Bryant Park) in New York City for 8 days of what’s next in fashion.

While I’ve lived and worked nearby (and seen the commotion from afar), I’d never actually been to a fashion week event… until this year. My friend Nadia invited me to join her at the Project Runway show. (When we were roommates, watching the TV show together was a tradition.)

We got to meet Heidi Klum pre-show. She was super friendly!

Kerry Washington was the guest judge and she looked fabulous. The show was way longer than I expected: Eight designers showed collections (so no season 12 spoilers). There were some exciting moments, like when Alexander’s final model came out encased in an tree-like contraption, then pulled a string to unfold a big, show-stopping skirt. But it went by so quickly (and there were so many looks) that for the most part, it’s hard to remember who showed what.  I can’t wait to find out who actually makes it to the top 3 on the show!
